Alkagesta Posts Record $3.5 Billion First-Half Revenue as Global Trading House Expands Across New Markets
Alkagesta, the international energy and commodity trading house headquartered in Malta, has reported record results for the first half of 2026, with revenue reaching $3.5 billion and trading volumes rising 53% year on year to 4.9 million metric tonnes.
The performance builds on a record 2025 financial year, in which the company generated $4.7 billion in revenue, and reflects continued investment in the scale and geographic reach of its trading operations across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Based on current trading activity, Alkagesta expects full-year 2026 volumes to exceed 10 million metric tonnes.
Entry into Aviation Fuel and Crude Oil Trading
A significant development during the period was Alkagesta's entry into the European aviation fuel market. Following access to the NATO Central Europe Pipeline System (CEPS), the company commenced Jet A1 deliveries into the European market — establishing a new distribution capability across the middle-distillates value chain at a time of acute supply concerns in the aviation sector.
Alkagesta also completed its first crude oil transactions during the period, including end-to-end delivery of approximately 1.07 million barrels to the Far East — a controlled entry into a new commodity segment that broadens the company's trading platform.
Singapore Operations Scale to 250,000 Metric Tonnes Per Month
Alkagesta's Singapore hub, established under Alkagesta Asia Pte in July 2025, reached monthly trading volumes of approximately 250,000 metric tonnes during the first half of 2026 — representing around 5% of Singapore's marine fuels market. Revenue from Singapore operations reached $1.01 billion for the period, growth of approximately 171% versus the full year 2025, underpinned by secured storage capacity at Horizon Terminal and a growing physical distribution business.
Management Ownership and Strategic Priorities
Senior members of the management team currently hold a 35% equity stake in Alkagesta, with leadership expressing its intention to increase this further — reflecting confidence in the company's long-term trajectory and a commitment to aligning management interests with the sustained success of the business.
Looking ahead, Alkagesta remains on track to scale jet fuel and crude oil trading activity and expand its storage and logistics capacity, supported by a total storage capacity of 700,000 m³ across Europe and Asia following a multi-year biofuel storage agreement at Pantank in Antwerp.
Orkhan Rustamov, CEO of Alkagesta, said: "These results reflect the progress we have made through a measured and disciplined approach to growth. Despite significant volatility across global commodities markets, our focus has remained on serving our clients reliably and building our business on strong, long-term relationships. We will continue to grow strategically, step by step, strengthening our presence in the markets where we operate and ensuring that our communication lines, capabilities and regional networks remain resilient."
