Get Behind the Daffodil This March - 30 Years of Inspiration
Marie Curie will be holding a Manchester Street Collection as part of - The Great Daffodil Appeal now in its 30th year - to raise vital funds and awareness in the Greater Manchester area on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th February in Manchester City Centre.
We are looking to recruit volunteers who could offer 2 hours of their time between the hours of 8am and 6pm (volunteers can do as many shifts as they can over the two days), within a designated area within Manchester City Centre collecting vital funds.
There will also be opportunities for individuals to be Street Entertainers, offering two half hour or more slots throughout the day. We know from past experience that when we team collections with entertainment passers-by are much more generous!
Dancers, singers, bell ringers, choirs, instrumentalists, actors, mime artists are all welcome.
We are looking to recruit as many volunteers as possible, there are over 100 streets in Manchester City Centre alone and our aim is to cover as many as possible, enabling us to maximise collection opportunities.
Our
charity is here for people living with any terminal illness, whether it's
terminal cancer or any other illness as well as much needed support for their
families. We offer guidance and support to help them get the most from the time
they have left.
Our nurses work day and night, in people's homes across the UK, providing free
hands-on care and vital emotional support. 7 out of 10 people with a terminal illness do not get the care and support they need.
END
This is a local event for a National Campaign - Volunteering opportunities will be available at most major Cities during the appeal.
