Training course helps boost students’ results by helping schools get to grips with data

Thursday 2 April, 2015

Students' results are getting a boost with the help of a new training course offered by non-profit company FFT.

An advanced training course run by the education data specialists will enable schools to improve results by using performance data across the school to target its teaching and resourcing.

FFT is inviting school data managers to benchmark results, draw upon FFT research and use the information to act on key strengths and weaknesses at their school.

The hands-on course looks in depth at FFT's new Aspire data system – from setting up and administering the Aspire system – to analysing dashboard data for target setting and DfE/Ofsted accountability.

Paul Charman, managing director of FFT, says: "We are delighted to be offering an advanced training course specially designed for data managers. The course helps data managers get to grips with their role and use FFT Aspire effectively to maximise progress across their school."

Paul adds: "The course covers a fantastic range of topics - from managing and using FFT benchmark and school targets to understanding some of the statistics and calculations behind the data. There's also sections on Aspire administration as well as common school issues and general trouble-shooting."
