Sir David Attenborough is the natural choice as UK's most wanted Christmas Dinner guest

In our survey of over 2,000 UK adults Sir David was voted the most wanted Christmas Dinner guest for 2018, beating Stephen Fry, The Queen and Prince Harry to the number one spot.

There was overwhelming warmth shown for Sir David with many selecting him for his unique knowledge, fascinating stories and inspirational dedication to the natural world.

There was also some welcome news for Theresa May as she moved up 11 places to be in the top 5 wanted guests, and the most favoured political guest ahead of Barack Obama and Sir Winston Churchill. Most of the Prime Minister's advocates suggested she needed a bit of a rest and a good home-cooked dinner after her last couple of years!

Churchill’s inclusion in the top 10 is perhaps a sign of the political times, whilst there was mixed news for the Obamas with the ex-president slipping down the list from the top spot last year to number six, but former first lady Michelle moving into the top 20 to make it more of a family affair for the first time… just as Christmas really should be.

The top ten was completed by the diverse trio of Jesus Christ, Donald Trump and Father Christmas.

Finally, further down the list, the recent jungle exploits of Harry Redknapp and John Barrowman endeared themselves sufficiently to the nation to be in the top 20 on the UK’s Christmas Dinner Guest List for 2018. Perhaps people felt they needed a good feed too?
