Worlds newest country to onboard founding citizens for summer solstice

Thursday 19 June, 2025

19/6/2025

On this Solstice — a day steeped in renewal and alignment — the long-awaited formation of the Bron Yr Aur Creative Micronation reaches a historic milestone. From 21st June a limited number of Founding Citizens will be onboarded into what may become one of the most culturally significant nation-building experiments of the century.

Bron Yr Aur is etched into music history for inspiring Led Zeppelin during one of their most reflective periods, even lending its name to a track on Physical Graffiti. In recent years, it has continued to serve as a creative force — hosting international retreats, cultural residencies, and major collaborative works, including an album recorded by a global supergroup of nearly 50 artists.

Rooted in the ancient landscape of Wales and guided by the Three PillarsCreativity, Sustainability, and Well-being — Bron Yr Aur is more than a micronation. It is a global bilingual movement for meaningful connection, artistic legacy, and new civic imagination.

This first wave of 500 Founding Citizens will forever be remembered as those who helped shape the world’s newest nation — one that envisions embassies not just of diplomacy, but of poetry, purpose, and possibility. Plans are already underway for cultural retreats, global partnerships, an artist-in-residence programme, a creative prescription scheme, and a physical embassy venue in Machynlleth, Wales, UK — with others to follow globally.

The citizenship programme goes live on Summer Solstice - 21st June at www.bronyraur.com, with early bird access granted to the first 100 of only 500 founding citizens.
