National problem gambling support charity GamCare is to host an hour-long, female-only live chatroom for women struggling with a gambling problem. The chatroom will run from 2pm - 3pm on Friday 24th March.
GamCare operates the National Gambling HelpLine and provides free, specialist counselling for problem gamblers, their family and friends, across England, Scotland and Wales. The charity also offers a range of online support, including regular chatrooms and a moderated Forum.
This chatroom will be run by an experience GamCare Adviser, who can offer emotional support, information and practical advice for participants struggling to control their gambling.
GamCare says: “This chatroom is designed to give emotional support to women struggling with a compulsion to gamble, who may be put-off from reaching out for help because they believe that support services are tailored for men.
At GamCare, we offer support for anyone affected by problem gambling, and we want to reassure women that we can help them too.”
To participate in the chatroom, register as a GamCare Forum member at http://www.gamcare.org.uk/user/register and join at 2pm on Friday 24th March.
