The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trusts 'Beast Of A Quiz' was a huge success!

The March event marked the
Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust's 'Beast Of A Quiz', and what a brilliant night
it was. The event itself was sold out, and the ballroom at Berties
was buzzing! From the event, the charity raised an astounding £4080.31 towards
its continued fight against cancer!
Guests took on ITV’s The
Chaser Mark 'The Beast' Labbett in a quiz event (which he of course won) and
then the winning team faced The Beast in a nail-biting head to head round, with
Mark only winning by one point! The raffle was also a big hit with the
quizzers, with the main prizes being an iPad mini and a beauty gift hamper
worth over £500 which was generously donated by Harveys of Halifax. There was
also a delicious looking sweet hamper, kindly donated by Haribo, amongst a
variety of other prizes.
The big event was kindly
supported by Sheena Doherty, a Principal Partner with Sovereign
Wealth who said, "it was a pleasure to sponsor such an amazing event. The
atmosphere and genuine enjoyment from everyone on the evening was splendid. I
am thrilled that my support has helped raise such a tremendous amount that will
clearly help this important Charity.”
Julie Smith, an attendee of the
quiz said, "the event was so well organised and promoted (big
congratulations to the LCYCT event organisers), lovely raffle prizes and Mark
"The Beast" Labbett was happy to sign books, photographs and have
photos taken with everyone – what a gentleman".
Thanks go out to everyone who
attended the event, the University of Huddersfield students who helped create,
organise and film the occasion, and a special thanks to Mark Labbett, David
Bill, Sheena Doherty and Paul Simpson for all their help in making it a night
to remember.
