Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), also known as bile duct cancer, is a cancer with a high mortality rate. Although considered rare, the worldwide incidence of this devastating cancer is increasing, presenting significant challenges to healthcare professionals globally. The epidemiology of the disease varies between regions, with risk factors well defined in some areas, and poorly in others.
The collective voice of the Global Cholangiocarcinoma Alliance (GCA) will be heard for the second time when it marks World Cholangiocarcinoma Day, February 12, 2020. The GCA has united to establish a global community in CCA through international collaborations and will work towards improving the future for patients with CCA across the globe.
The GCA is asking people to take one simple action on World CCA Day 2020 – Sign the Pledge.
Everyone can make a difference on World CCA Day and beyond by signing the GCA pledge to support establishing a global voice in CCA.
Signing the pledge, nominating colleagues and friends to sign too, and sharing it on social media channels on World CCA Day, February 12, 2020 using the hashtag #WorldCCADay, will help to raise awareness globally.
Our aim is 1,000 signed pledges which we will use to build a network of informed supporters who will strengthen and expand our reach in establishing a global voice in CCA and ensure our vision becomes a reality.
