​The BMA Award Little Hearts Matter its staff Charity of the Year for 2016

The British Medical Association (BMA), a trade union and professional body for UK doctors, has awarded Little Hearts Matter its staff Charity of the Year for 2016.

Little Hearts Matter is a small charity that supports families when their child has only half a working heart and is the only UK charity solely dedicated to supporting families through their half a heart journey

The small heart charity was brought to the trade union's attention after Melanie Sutton, Industrial relations officer at The BMA, praised the charity. Melanie said: “I have seen the wonderful support that Little Hearts Matter provides to families so I'm thrilled to have been able to nominate them this year.

“Little Hearts Matter, a very small national charity, is always there to support families with many difficult decisions throughout every stage of their journey and they do a fantastic job. I'm so glad that the BMA staff have voted to support the charity this year!”

Suzie Hutchinson, Chief Executive of Little Hearts Matter said: “We are so delighted that the BMA has chosen Little Hearts Matter to be their staff charity this year. This exciting partnership offers us a great opportunity to raise much needed funds but just as importantly it gives us a chance to raise a greater awareness of our work and the needs of our membership within medical communities spread throughout the UK.”
