Resource Centre holds exhibition to celebrate 40 years of helping small groups make a big difference

For the last four decades, the Resource Centre has been helping small community groups to make a big difference to Brighton & Hove. The Centre is holding an exhibition to celebrate its 40 year legacy from 16th to 22nd January in the foyer of the Jubilee Library.

The Resource Centre is proud to provide information, advice and resources to help the thousands of volunteers who work together to make Brighton & Hove a vibrant, diverse and exciting place to live. The exhibition will include a look back at the Resource Centre’s beginnings, how it has changed over the years, and the work the Centre does to help community groups today.

The exhibition will include space for visitors to add their own stories, memories and suggestions for the Centre’s future. Everyone is warmly invited to drop in and share your experiences of the Centre and ideas about its future.

The Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Cllr Pete West, will launch the exhibition on Monday 16th January. The Resource Centre is one of the Mayor’s 27 chosen charities this year. The Mayor has this to say about the Centre:

"The Resource Centre is, in my book, the biggest unsung hero in our city. Without the printing services, the advice services, help with finding funding and the event equipment store, and all else you do, I truly believe we would not have the richness of community activity in the city we enjoy today.”
