Online Distance Learning Provider, the National Extension College, to Host March Virtual Open Day

Following the success of its first-ever online open event, held in October 2024, the National Extension College (NEC) is hosting a second Virtual Open Day on Thursday 13th March 2025 from 1.00-2.00pm.

This FREE online event is open to students of all ages and parents of home educated learners. Attendees will discover how online distance learning works and how NEC can help them, or their child, to achieve their education and career goals. The event will also introduce NEC’s new Structured GCSE Programme - an innovative, one-year learning experience, tailored to each student's needs.

Anyone interested can reserve their place in advance. 

What to Expect

Participants will discover:

• How NEC’s flexible online learning works.
• The range of NEC courses available, including GCSEs, A levels and vocational qualifications.
• NEC’s dedicated tutor support, Well-being for Learning Programme and Pastoral Care Service.
• Additional opportunities for learning such as Masterclasses and tutorials.
• NEC’s support for students aged under 18 and those with additional needs.
• How to book and prepare to sit exams.
• Support for UCAS applications and career progression.
• Ways to connect with other online learners.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions and to hear about the experiences of current NEC students.
