The Social Travel (TST) is the new website that aims to 'Make your virtual world a reality' by teaming your social network of friends via facebook with simple travel solutions on a personalized map - encouraging travel plans to people rather than places…
Following a Beta launch period, The Social Travel website now officially launches to the public - taking interaction with social media friends to a whole new level. The free travel interface is partnered with Skyscanner and BlaBlaCar (with train & bus services being added end 2015) and encourages users to add their Facebook friends (extending to other social networks in 2016), as well as inviting new users by email; creating a social travel map, from which they can plot the cheapest route to visit from the best air fares and car share solutions available.
Despite there being other travel comparison sites around, the TST team aims to marry the ever-expanding world of social media and International travel, by facilitating fast and low-cost 'social travel' experiences.
Future development: With the increasing power of social media and the partnerships with Skycanner and BlaBlaCar, in addition to train & coach companies by the end of 2015; The Social Travel aims to offer its network of users a fully-fledged, worldwide service of travel solutions, whilst benefitting from an increased range of social sharing options. These include: the possibility to easily share trip plans and travel suggestions with friends via Facebook, email or other social networks, post event invitations and their corresponding travel solutions and even the ability to send accommodation requests to friends whilst you are in town.
