New web-comedy shows the discomfort and humour behind scriptwriting

Tuesday 15 July, 2014

The hosts of ‘Nothing But Static’, a UK podcast dedicated to television, are thrilled to announce that they have launched their new web series ‘Writing Space’.

Writing Space is a 6 episode comedy series in the style of a mockumentary that follows two struggling screenwriters and their attempts to be creative without irritating each other. The series take a humorous look at how slow and painful the writing process can be, created from the minds of two upcoming writers and comedians that experience this humour and discomfort daily. More details can be found in the attached PDF.

The series is based on the experiences of creators Dan Doolan and Chris Billingham who met when studying ‘Scriptwriting for Film and Television’ at Bournemouth University. They have since gone on to write productions for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, scenes for Brian Timoney Actors' Studio, stand-up comedy, plays and other web content including another web series ‘Liquid Lunch’.

Episodes 1-4 are now available to view on youtube.com/nothingbutstaticuk. The first episode, followed by links to the next episodes can be found here: http://bit.ly/1mfukDe.

The series was entirely self-funded and created with the help of a small but dedicated 3-man crew. Both Dan and Chris are available for interviews and comments regarding the series and appreciate anyone taking the time to look at the series or help spread the world.

Thank you for your time.
