Thursday 30 August, 2018

Hull, the UK City of Culture, is once again coming alive as preparations get underway for this weekend's Freedom Festival which begins on Friday 31 August.

This is the festival's 11th year and the legacy of William Wilberforce have never been stronger.

Taking place across Hull City Centre, this three-day, family arts festival explores themes of Freedom while bringing out its fun and playful elements through a free programme of world-class circus, dance, art, street theatre, talks, debate and music.

With performances by leading UK companies Full Tilt Aerial, New York hip hop band The Jungle Brothers and Hull's biggest homegrown community feast - enjoy the freedom of the last weekend of the summer holidays!

31 Aug – 2 Sept, Hull City Centre, mostly free (www.freedomfestival.co.uk)
