The shortlist will be announced officially on 15 October 2025 as part of the Frieze London opening reception. Degussa, a partner of the globally prestigious art fair taking place from 15 to 18 October 2025, is underscoring its long-term cultural engagement through its involvement. On this special occasion, Degussa will also honour the first winner, Thuy Tien Nguyen, who took the 2025 award, with a major exhibition including new work created exclusively for Frieze and unveiled here for the first time.

The Young Generation Art Award is aimed at emerging artists in an early stage of their career. The goal is to support young talent and guide these individuals on their journey into the professional art world. There is an expert jury who select the award’s winner from among the five artists on the shortlist. The prize amounts to 10,000 euros, and each shortlisted artist receives 3,000 euros. The chosen artworks will be presented in a curated exhibition at the Degussa branch at Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin later this year.

This year, the jury again brings together highly respected figures from the art world:
