London, UK (October 18th, 2021) - Babelfish will be available to trade on Decentralized Exchange SushiSwap Soon!
The BabelFish project is a brand reboot of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, a once-popular SciFi radio series and book anthology originally broadcast and published in the late 1970s.
Launching almost 42 years to the day after the initial release of the HitchHiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, BabelFish’s inception could not have come at a more ideal time. Fans of the series know the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything is 42. This bodes well for investors of the MemeCoin and lends a superstitious sense of good luck to this new token’s team.
BabelFish offers two unique opportunities for investors:
The BabelFish team hopes to appeal to those who feel that the Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, or the “Guide” as fans call it, has fallen by the wayside, and no longer gets the recognition it deserves. They are true lovers of the series who seek to both expand the community to a new generation who have yet to see the brilliant humour and unorthodox philosophical nature of the book, as well as give current fans a rally point to meet and share their appreciation for the Guide.
When branding the project, the team made sure to focus on recreating and modernizing the imagery included in the original production of the Guide, and straying away from the audio-visual branding that currently permeates the internet which is mainly sourced from the 2005 movie that greatly upset purist fans of the book. That rebranding will manifest itself as a set of mintable NFTs based on characters, items and places within the book, and culminate in an NFT card game that the developers are currently working on. They have even hinted that a new web series may be in the works.
The name, BabelFish, is callback to the series fans should appreciate. A Babel fish is a small, bright yellow fish, which, when placed in one’s ear, allows them to hear any language in the universe in their own native tongue. To quote the book, it is “probably the oddest thing in the universe.”
BabelFish hopes to tap into the large community of Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy lovers who have long cherished the unique humour and bizarre philosophical ideas presented in the book. Including Elon Musk who said this when describing why it is his favorite book in 2013.
"I guess when I was around 12 or 15…I had an existential crisis, and I was reading various books on trying to figure out the meaning of life and what does it all mean? It all seemed quite meaningless. So then I read ‘Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy,’ which is quite positive, I think, and it highlighted an important point, which is that a lot of times the question is harder than the answer. And if you can properly phrase the question, then the answer is the easy part.”
Must be why he sent that Tesla into space with “Don’t Panic!” on the view screen.
