Richard Ayoade, star of 'The IT Crowd', will be joined by Active Robot's Baxter Research Robot on the Gadgetman Show. The episode will air on Monday 22nd September at 8.30 p.m. on Channel 4.
In Ayoade's search for help with everyday activities, he explores the help of a robot. He is joined by fellow comedian Ade Edmonson and the episode shows them being waited on with food and poured wine by the award-winning robot in a 'Restaurant of the Future' setting.
Although the programme has a humorous tone, it presents how Robots will impact the human life in the future. The Baxter Research Robot is designed for corporate and academic research in the laboratory. The robot takes centre stage for the majority of the programme and generates discussion about the future of food and dining, and the huge impact that robotics technology is expected to make on these and other aspects of everyday life.
