Staff at
Coastline Housing in Redruth, Cornwall, have raised just over £2,900 for fellow local
charity Penhaligon’s Friends.
The money was
raised by employees at Coastline Housing over the course of the year from
events including a big breakfast, bring and buy sale, cake sale, regular dress
down Fridays and a coast-to-coast walk.
Penhaligon’s
Friends was chosen by Coastline staff as the company’s charity of the year in
2017 due to the excellent help they gave to the family of a colleague who sadly
died suddenly and unexpectedly three years ago.
The charity is
based in Redruth and offers support across Cornwall to children and young
people who have suffered a bereavement.
Chantal
Worden-Evans, Volunteer Coordinator at Penhaligon’s Friends, said: “We are
delighted to have had Coastline Housing’s support over the past year, their
incredible fundraising efforts are fantastic having raised over £2,900 for our
Cornish childhood bereavement charity. Last year we helped over 700
bereaved children come to terms with the death of a family member or close
friend. Coastline’s wonderful donation will enable us to run our next three
Memory Days for our bereaved families across Cornwall where they will be able
to join in on a reflective activity day remembering their loved one who died.”

Penhaligon’s Friends over the past year and raise such a good amount of money.
It’s a charity close to the heart of many colleagues here at Coastline so it’s
made the fundraising extra poignant in many ways and I’d like to thank everyone
