Scottish Golf has today announced that they will be teaming up with electric vehicle charging provider, EVC, as their exclusive partner to provide affiliated golf courses across Scotland with charging infrastructure.

EVC are a well-established EV charging network. With 324 chargers already on their current network, the renewable energy experts are set to close 2021 with a total of 500 chargers across the UK.

This coincides with the ambitious and necessary rollout of 100,000 charge points over the next 5 years, including an additional 6,000 chargers to be added to the public network in 2022.

EVC specialise in providing zero-cost charging solutions to developments, working alongside the Government’s net-zero emissions plan to facilitate the UK’s transition to electric vehicles.

With September showing the highest ever growth in sales for electric vehicles, and a 75% increase of EVs on the road compared to the same period last year, the need for widespread accessible charge points throughout the UK has never been more evident.

Scottish Golf’s partnership with EVC will eliminate charging anxiety for members and visitors alike, giving them the confidence that comes with knowing an EV charger will be available for use when they arrive at a course.

The multi-year partnership will allow any of the governing body’s affiliated clubs to apply for the installation of charge points at their facility through EVC.

Affiliated clubs will have access to EVC’s fully-funded, free commercial solutions to ensure courses across Scotland are future-proofed and prepared for the impending influx of EV drivers.

Speaking about the announcement, Nick Ballamy, Managing Director at EVC, stated, “It’s great to see associations as well-known as Scottish Golf taking a proactive approach to driving sustainability.

“Offering charging facilities across the golf courses of Scotland will encourage more people to make the switch to electric and contribute to a greener future”.

Iain Forsyth, Chief Commercial Officer at Scottish Golf, said, “

“Golf clubs across Scotland offer a fantastic opportunity to grow a sustainable charging network for electric vehicles.

“We are delighted to announce this new partnership with EVC that will give our affiliated clubs the opportunity to become part of that network and provide their members and visitors with the convenience of being able to use accessible charging points while they visit.

“As a governing body, we are committed to supporting the efforts being made to reduce carbon emissions and through this new partnership, Scottish golf clubs will now be able make that commitment too, making it easier for golfers to make the switch to an electric vehicle.”

EVC has been chosen as an innovation partner for a new self-service, interactive and intelligent marketplace for sustainable technologies.

The Wates Innovation Network (WIN) portal
is the first initiative of its kind and has been created by the Wates Group, one of the UK’s leading family-owned construction, development and property services companies, to help businesses ‘build back better’. The portal will connect companies directly, and free of charge, with partners that can offer solutions to help meet sustainability targets. It aims to create an industry leading network that will accelerate the transition to net zero by showcasing smarter solutions to design, construct and maintain buildings.

EVC has been providing fully funded EV charging solutions since 2019. As an innovation partner, EVC will feature on the WIN portal alongside 41 other suppliers approved by a screening panel including 40 environmental experts. Users can filter sustainable innovations based on their requirements to find the product and supplier most suitable for them.

The new online portal will enable EVC to connect with businesses directly and better support them in providing tangible environmental and operational savings.

Nick Ballamy, Managing Director at EVC, said:

“We are delighted that EVC have been chosen by Wates to help businesses across the UK achieve their net zero emission goals. Being a member of the WIN portal will allow companies to take advantage of EVC’s fully funded EV charging solutions and help further build the charging infrastructure in the UK.”

John Dunne, Group Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Director at Wates, commented:

“The market for sustainable solutions is expanding fast and companies who are not investing in innovations will soon be unable to compete. The issue is 95% of market ready sustainable technologies never get considered because key decision makers do not know they exist, or suppliers don’t have access to the key corporate decision makers. The WIN portal is bridging that gap, showcasing innovation and helping businesses to meet bold environmental targets.”

Named Best Commercial EV Charging Solutions Provider 2021 – UK, EVC is one of the fastest growing providers of free EV charge points across the country, supported by renowned renewable energy investment group, Oasthouse Ventures. EVC intends to improve the UK’s EV charging infrastructure by installing over 100,000 chargers within the next 5 years, working alongside the UK Government’s initiative to ban the sale of petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030.

Since the Government announced a nationwide ban on petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030, the UK has seen a major shift towards electric vehicles in the automotive industry. Electric vehicles (commonly referred to as EVs), are no longer an inferior option when purchasing a car, instead it is clear that the UK is firmly amid the EV revolution. When the UK went into a national lockdown in March last year, the automotive industry took a massive hit, with petrol and diesel car sales plummeting. Registered EVs however, rose from 210,000 in March 2020 to surpassing half a million as of May 2021.

With lockdown easing, and many returning to the office, businesses will be unprepared for the influx of electric vehicles. The lack of available charge points will soon become a very real issue. “With only 60% of the UK having access to a driveway, charging your car at home is not an option for many. Numerous drivers rely on public charge points, with workplace charging being the most convenient option given the amount of time motorists spend at their offices. Coming out of the pandemic, businesses must act accordingly and ensure that they have the infrastructure in place to offer their employees an accessible charge point. At EVC, we have made it our mission to give companies the smoothest possible transition into an EV future,” states Managing Director, Nick Ballamy.

In 2020, EVC set the target of installing 100,000 chargers across the UK to help build infrastructure, keeping up with the growing numbers of EVs on the road. Nick states, “Over the past year we have seen an unprecedented rise in electric vehicles in the UK. With this rise, it has become evident that the implementation of sufficient charging points at business owners’ developments comes at a high cost. In today’s climate, we understand that now more than ever, cashflow is tight for many companies. Therefore, we have built our model around providing fully funded charging points to businesses, ensuring they have one less cost to worry about.”

To most, the electric vehicle charging industry is novel. Understanding which type of charger is appropriate for your development or the difficulties that come with a charging infrastructure can make installing charging points seem like a daunting task. EVC have curated a team of industry specialists with extensive knowledge in the field, that allows businesses to benefit from a bespoke solution rather than a one-size-fits-all blanket approach. “We have a fantastic team here who are always on hand to help. The ease of the client journey from start to finish is something we pride ourselves on, and our consultants are there every step of the way to ensure that businesses are being provided with charging solutions that suit their needs” continued Nick.

The UK is moving towards a sustainable future and the EV revolution is well underway. The need to offer accessible charge points has never been more prevalent and it is an issue which EVC is confident it can resolve. “100,000 charge points in 5 years, that’s the target. We believe offering organisations a free solution to their EV charging requirements will provide businesses with sufficient incentive to take the next steps and future-proof their developments. We have worked with many companies across the country who have already benefitted from our approach and we look forward to many more business owners taking the first step on their EV journey”.

EVC was recently named ‘Best Commercial EV Charging Solution Provider - UK’ by Corporate Vision in recognition of the improvements it is making to the UK’s charging infrastructure. “We are delighted to see that the excellent work being carried out by our team of EV infrastructure experts is being acknowledged, and we look forward to continuing to build a sustainable future for us and the generations that follow,’ concludes Nick.

<![CDATA[ EVC to install 100,000 electric vehicle charge points by 2026 ]]> https://pressat.co.uk/releases/evc-to-install-100000-electric-vehicle-charge-points-by-2026-9235e36fc6661ad0a48988cf29cc1880/ https://pressat.co.uk/releases/evc-to-install-100000-electric-vehicle-charge-points-by-2026-9235e36fc6661ad0a48988cf29cc1880/ Wednesday 14 April, 2021

If we take a look at the evolution of transportation systems around the world, we can see the future of cars is electric—but how far is the future? Is it too distant? Actually, no. There are people across the world who would buy an electric car tomorrow — if only they had easy access to a charger.

Across the UK, the EV charging infrastructure is failing to keep up with the demand for electric vehicles. A recent Policy Exchange think tank stated that the UK would need around 400,000 public charge points by the turn of the decade in order to match motorists charging requirements.

Born out of the realisation of the mass shortage of EV charging points throughout the UK, Brighton-based EVC is on a quest to build a sustainable future by swiftly responding to the demands of the oncoming EV revolution. “Our mission is to bring accessible charging across the UK by installing 100,000 EV charge points by 2026” declares Nick Ballamy, Managing Director of EVC.

To encourage the uptake of EV charge points, EVC specializes in residential and commercial charging solutions; providing their clients with free EV charging infrastructure to futureproof their car parks whilst offering competitive pricing tariffs.

EVC is supported by the renowned renewable energy investment group Oasthouse Ventures and has partnered with some of the biggest names across the renewable energy industry to deliver market-leading products and services. This provides a complete package for clients and end-users with an ultra-modern design, cutting-edge technology, and comprehensive safety specifications fit to be used for both commercial and private developments. “We are delighted to have partnered with experts in the field, providing our end-users with market leading technology to match our groundbreaking approach to EV charging,” says Nick Ballamy.

In addition to their range of EV chargers, the company lays special emphasis on customer care and guarantees ongoing consultancy throughout the term of a partnership. EVC also have their focus on other environmentally friendly endeavors such as the Clean Air Project, which has been launched in 2021, working with charities to counter global deforestation.

Following on from the recent Government announcement to ban the sale of all petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030, EVC with their unrelenting passion for paving the way to a future free of emissions, will be providing complete turnkey management solutions to take the onus off landlords across the UK.

“We understand during these challenging economic times, businesses may have more pressing priorities. Through our funded investment we are able to offer organisations free solutions to help tackle the oncoming EV revolution, meet customer demand and to make EV charge points one less thing to worry about,” concludes Nick Ballamy.
