Down Syndrome Game

Unique educational game helps children learn about Down syndrome.

It is World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st (#WDSD23). We are celebrating with the launch of new educational game to raise awareness of Down syndrome, especially among children.

Children with Down syndrome want to be accepted and included. But misconceptions about Down syndrome can act as barriers to their inclusion.

It is important that people around them understand what Down syndrome is, and what it isn’t. The Down Syndrome Game helps children, and adults, learn about Down syndrome and to understand that children with Down syndrome are just like everyone else.

The game presents important information about Down syndrome in a way that is easy to understand and remember so that players can develop an accurate 'big picture'.

What is the Down Syndrome Game?

It is an online educational game that is fun with a serious objective. It is a simple online board game that is very easy to understand and to play.

Anyone can run a game and it only takes 15-45 minutes to play. The game works through a web browser so you don’t have to download anything, all you need is an internet connection.

It is played by up to 4 teams or individuals and it encourages the players to discuss and explore key aspects of Down syndrome. The game is competitive and collaborative, it encourages players to engage in active discussions about Down syndrome.

Teams take turns to answer questions about Down syndrome and then discuss the answers that the game presents. Points are awarded for correct answers. The game also presents photographs of children and young adults who have Down syndrome.

The game is free to play with no registration. Just follow this link to start your first game: https://www.downsyndromegame.co.uk/
